The name Aganjú symbolizes wilderness habitats and the essence of untouched beauty. In this spirit, we are dedicated to unveiling the essence of each place we explore. Just like the molten lava forges new paths, we delve deep into uncharted territories, revealing the hidden gems and untold stories that make each destination unique.
We pride ourselves on being more than just a typical travel blog, guide, or agent. With an approach as straightforward and genuine as the chats we have with friends, our tips come to you in the form of simple lists. While we've added some extra details to make our tips come alive, rest assured, no gimmicks or sales pitches here – only honest stories and practical advice from our own experiences.
In the coming months, we'll be sharing hundreds of new destinations from our backlog. Expect authentic insights and heartfelt connections to our favourite places. And, as we continually update our evolving library, feel free to share your specific requests, and we'll do our best to prioritise them.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Ever since we first started dating, travel has had a strong presence in our relationship.
During our first trip together, we were both nervously hiding our travel notes, afraid that the other would discover how much of a neurotic planning geek we truly were. It didn’t take long, however, until we began to fail in our attempts to act casual whilst dropping hints on where to go, where to stay, and where to eat... We soon realized that we shared a passion for the perfect holiday, which involved a ton of research, even for the shortest getaway.
After having acknowledged our common obsession, we began to compare notes. Truth is, we had both been sitting on vast libraries of self-made travel guides across the world. We both had numerous excels and lengthy lists of hotels, restaurants, sights, coupled with hourly schedules, commentaries and prices…
Together, we went through more rounds of research, scouting through countless resources to stumble upon new destinations. Our database grew bigger, and requests from friends (and friends of friends) kept pouring in daily. As a result, we created concise and verified lists based on our own experiences.
Many of you might have already received or requested these popular lists, and that brings us back to July 2023. While relaxing in a boutique hotel in Sifnos (that we had booked a year in advance), listening to Bebel Gilberto, we decided to make all these ‘guides’, which had previously been shared on WhatsApp, available here, for free.
