TRAVEL GUIDES
OUR GUIDE TO SIFNOS
The allure of the Cyclades lies in how its islands seamlessly blend together, yet each one offers something uniquely captivating. Sifnos is no exception.
We've had the pleasure of visiting the island last summer, after spending a few days exploring other islands. Sifnos was our last stop of the trip, and it was perfect for its laid-back charm and tranquility. It's a place we can’t recommend enough for those looking to experience the Cyclades' authentic charm without the hustle and bustle of more tourist-heavy spots.
During our stay, we took leisurely strolls down to the secluded beaches next to charming blue-domed church. The stunning Aegean views from these spots were simply unforgettable. We had a fantastic time exploring the island’s with its blend of serene beaches, rich culinary traditions, and breathtaking landscapes.
It’s bigger than Folegandros, Serifos, or Kimolos but much less glitzy than Mykonos or Santorini, and that’s precisely what makes it so appealing to us.
Sifnos is a place where you can slow down, savor every moment, and return again and again to discover new layers of beauty and culture.
Where to Stay
Poulatis, Sifnos
From 200€ per night
Our favourite hotel in Greece! Perched high above the Aegean, offering breathtaking views of a charming blue-domed church and crystal-clear turquoise waters. As soon as we arrived, we were struck by the peace and quiet. Verina Astra consists of only seven independent suites, each with its private terrace overlooking the endless blue horizon. Our room was incredibly spacious, comfortable, effortlessly elegant and the views from our terrace were mesmerizing.
Nos Hotel is a beautiful eco-friendly retreat located just 300 meters from Faros Beach. While we didn’t have the chance to stay there, it's easy to see why it would be a dream destination. The spot itself is nothing short of magnificent, and the decor seems exquisite, thoughtfully designed to enhance the natural surroundings.

A rock-perched restaurant in Kastro where you will have one of your best meals on the island. Informal yet formal at the same time, the restaurant will make you feel like you are at a friend’s house (one who lives in a secluded cove). Cantina prides their “no-waste” sustainable menu and extensive wine list. The dishes are perfectly layered and the service is fantastic. Highly recommended - book in advance!
Pelicanos is a fish taverna from the Cantina team. It opened in 2023 in the beach of Faros, a great location and setting. The service is said to be great and we heard the tarama is the best on the island. If you’re looking for a fish lunch o dinner on the beach that is a little bit more upscale than the regular tavernas, this would be the spot!
